Step 01

Get the current beta package directly from this page and keep the original zip unchanged before uploading it to WordPress.

Step 02

Use Upload Plugin inside WordPress admin, choose the downloaded zip, and let WordPress install the aiCMO plugin into the standard plugins directory.

Step 03

After activation, open the plugin setup screen, connect through aicmo.uk, and continue domain claim, drafts review, and autopilot configuration.

Update flow

The hosted beta replaces in-place — your settings, connection, and publishing queue carry over. To update from any version to the latest:

Download the newest beta zip from this page before starting a manual update.
In WordPress admin, upload the new zip through Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
When WordPress asks to replace the existing plugin, confirm so the same plugin slug stays in place.
Reopen AI CMO → Setup and verify your site connection, drafts, and autopilot settings still look correct.

Pull AI-generated articles from AI CMO into this site on a schedule. Key-only activation — no application password, no inbound access.

The plugin no longer requires full administrator rights. It now checks its own `manage_aicmo_connector` capability, so access can be granted to custom roles.
New "Access" page (AI CMO → Access) where an administrator chooses which roles may use the plugin. The Administrator role is always allowed and cannot be unchecked, so a site owner cannot lock themselves out.
Only administrators can open the Access page itself — a granted role cannot widen its own access.
Scheduled publishing is unchanged: it runs without a signed-in user and never depended on these permissions.
Note: this capability is privileged. A granted role can change the API connection, run a pull immediately, publish the fetched articles, and connect Google Search Console.
