How to install and run the aiCMO WordPress Plugin beta
Use this guide when you want to move from a normal WordPress site into a cleaner aiCMO workflow for drafts, publishing control, organic traffic growth, and stronger AI visibility.
The aiCMO WordPress Plugin beta is designed for founders and lean teams who want a simpler operating layer inside wp-admin without paying an agency to manage every step manually.
This beta is currently built for WordPress websites.
Watch the launch walkthrough first
If you want the fastest introduction before installing, watch the short walkthrough from Maggie:
Watch the WordPress plugin walkthrough on YouTube
The video covers the onboarding path on aicmo.uk, the WordPress plugin install flow, account connection, and the main publishing workflow inside WordPress admin.
What the plugin is for
The plugin gives your WordPress site a direct aiCMO operating surface inside wp-admin, including:
- account connection between your site and aiCMO
- onboarding progress and setup guidance
- drafts review and editing
- posts visibility and publishing context
- Auto Publish controls
- domain-aware plugin updates through the hosted beta channel
It is meant to reduce repetitive marketing operations while keeping the final publishing controls in your hands.
Who should use it
This beta is a good fit if:
- your main website runs on WordPress
- you want AI-assisted organic growth without paying for a traditional agency retainer
- you want to manage drafts and publishing from inside your own site admin
- you want aiCMO to do the heavy research and strategy work before content execution begins
It is probably not the right fit if your main website is not on WordPress yet. In that case, the LinkedIn Chrome plugin is the easier way to try aiCMO today.
What you need before installing
- a WordPress website with admin access
- a working aiCMO account or onboarding email
- permission to upload and activate plugins in
wp-admin - the current aiCMO WordPress plugin beta ZIP from
aicmo.uk/wordpress-plugin
Start from the aiCMO onboarding flow
Before you install the plugin, start at aicmo.uk and tell aiCMO about your brand.
The minimum onboarding input is:
- your email
- your website
After you submit that form, aiCMO can begin preparing the brand context behind the plugin workflow.
What happens after you click continue
aiCMO uses the onboarding step to begin the first layer of setup around your brand. In practice that can include:
- saving your website under the correct account
- checking whether the site looks like WordPress
- preparing business context for your workspace
- researching your website, competitors, and market topics
- building the early content and growth context that will later support drafting and publishing
The point is not just to hand you a ZIP file. It is to make sure the plugin connects to a meaningful business workspace once you activate it.
How to download and install the plugin
- Open
aicmo.uk/wordpress-plugin. - Download the latest hosted beta ZIP.
- Log into your WordPress admin panel.
- Open
Plugins > Add New. - Click
Upload Plugin. - Choose the aiCMO ZIP file you downloaded.
- Click
Install Now. - After installation completes, click
Activate Plugin.
Do not unzip the plugin before uploading it to WordPress. Upload the original ZIP package directly through wp-admin.
What happens after activation
After activation, WordPress opens the aiCMO workflow inside your admin area.
From there you can:
- open
AI CMO > Setup - connect your aiCMO account
- confirm the site and domain context
- continue the onboarding flow if anything is still pending
If your account and website are already recognized, the setup path is shorter. If onboarding is still in progress, you can return later and continue from the same setup area.
Why the account connection matters
The plugin is not useful as a disconnected WordPress add-on.
The account connection tells aiCMO:
- which business this site belongs to
- which domain should receive the content and publishing workflow
- which workspace should power drafts, posts, and autopilot actions
Without that link, WordPress can load the plugin UI, but it cannot operate with the right aiCMO context behind it.
What you will find inside the WordPress plugin
Once the plugin is connected, you will usually see these main areas:
Overviewfor setup and workspace statusPostsfor published content and current publishing visibilityDraftsfor previewing, editing, and saving generated contentAuto Publishfor publishing controls and automation settings- domain and account controls for connection health and plugin status
This is where the workflow becomes practical. You stop juggling disconnected tools and start managing execution from inside the site you already own.
How drafts work
The Drafts area is where you review and edit the content aiCMO prepares for your site.
Typical workflow:
- open
AI CMO > Drafts - review the proposed article or page draft
- edit copy where needed
- update or replace images
- save your changes
- decide whether to publish now or leave it for later
This keeps final editorial control with you, even when aiCMO is doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes.
How posts and publishing work
The Posts area gives you a clearer view of:
- what has already been published
- what is queued or planned next
- how the content pipeline is progressing for the site
This is useful when you want to track output and make sure the growth engine is producing work consistently instead of leaving publishing stuck in drafts forever.
How Auto Publish works
Auto Publish is the part of the workflow that lets aiCMO keep working without constant manual intervention.
With Auto Publish enabled, you can control:
- whether content publishes automatically
- when content should go live
- how many posts can go out each day
That means aiCMO can keep operating continuously while you still define the publishing boundaries.
It is not meant to remove your control. It is meant to remove repetitive effort.
How to keep the plugin updated
We recommend turning on WordPress auto-updates for the plugin when your environment allows it.
If you want to update manually:
- download the newest beta ZIP from
aicmo.uk/wordpress-plugin - open
Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin - upload the new ZIP
- confirm the replacement when WordPress asks to overwrite the existing plugin
- reopen
AI CMO > Setupand verify the site is still connected correctly
The hosted archive page also gives you a rollback path if you need an older beta package.
Common issues and what to check
The plugin will not install
Check:
- you uploaded the ZIP, not an extracted folder
- your WordPress user has permission to install plugins
- the downloaded package completed fully before upload
The plugin activates but setup is not complete
Check:
- you are signed into the correct aiCMO account
- the onboarding flow at
aicmo.ukwas completed with the same website - the domain shown in setup matches the site you are installing on
The site is connected but you do not see the expected workflow yet
Check:
- onboarding or workspace preparation may still be finishing
- you refresh
AI CMO > Setup - the correct site and account are connected
You need to update or roll back manually
Check:
- the latest and archived ZIP files on
aicmo.uk/wordpress-plugin - the plugin version shown inside WordPress
- the site connection again after the update finishes
Pricing and fit
The WordPress plugin beta is designed to make aiCMO accessible to smaller businesses that need practical growth help without high agency retainers.
At the time of the launch walkthrough, pricing starts from 15 GBP per month, with higher plans available if you need faster growth support.
What the plugin does not try to do
The beta does not promise:
- instant rankings with no setup
- total hands-off publishing with no review
- support for every CMS today
- perfect results without a real website, market, or offer behind it
The value comes from a cleaner workflow, stronger publishing consistency, better use of aiCMO research, and a lower operational burden for the business owner.
Where to start next
- Start onboarding at
aicmo.uk/onboarding - Download the latest build at
aicmo.uk/wordpress-plugin - Use the hosted connect flow if the plugin sends you back to
aicmo.uk - Return to WordPress admin and continue from
AI CMO > Setup
That is the intended loop: aiCMO prepares the strategy, WordPress stays the operating surface, and you keep control over what gets published.
